Our crime data is based on FBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) statistics and represents violent crime rates per 100,000 residents. Note that this is sample data for demonstration - production would use real FBI UCR data.

What weather data do you use?

Weather data includes average January low temperatures, average July high temperatures, and estimated annual sunny days, based on NOAA Climate Normals. This helps you filter for your preferred climate.

Can I save my filter settings?

Yes! Your filter settings are automatically saved in the URL, so you can bookmark your perfect criteria or share them with others. Each combination generates a unique shareable link.

What does "matching counties" mean?

Counties shown in green meet ALL of your active filter criteria. Gray counties fail at least one of your requirements. The counter shows how many of the 3,000+ US counties match your preferences.
